Gardening Jobs for January
A new year has started and we wish you a very happy new year and that your garden brings you lots of joy this year.
Here are our gardening jobs for January, this months all about cleaning and tidying.
• Protect - Use fleece to protect vulnerable plants from frost.
• Keep it tidy - Tidy Flower beds, removing dead growth and leaves.
• Get mulching! - Start to Mulch fruit trees and roses.
• Keeping it clean - Wash a sterilise any greenhouses.
• More cleaning - Clean slippery decking and paving with soapy water or patio cleaner.
• Help your feathery friends - Winter can be a very tough time for wild birds so be sure to put water and food out for them.
• Ready, set, plant - Now is the time to plant bare-root rose shrubs, hedging and ornamental trees if the ground isn't frozen.
• Get pruning - Prune roses when they are dormant.
• Grow your own - Buy you seed potatoes, onions, shallots and garlic bulbs.
